Our Team

Our team is comprised of a dedicated group of individuals with extensive background. They provide bookkeeping, accounting, tax preparation and administrative support for our clients and the firm.  

Paul Pahoresky, CPA, MBA

Managing Member

An experienced CPA, Paul has worked in the accounting industry for over 30 years advising clients in areas of business start-ups, cash flow management and tax planning. He has advanced experience in working with businesses in the biotech start-up and dental industries.


Paul graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s in economics and business administration. Paul went on to earn his MBA with a concentration in Finance from Case Western Reserve Weatherhead School of Management. He is a member of the AICPA and the OSCPA. Paul is active in Learning About Business, the Lake County Council on Aging and is a Scoutmaster with a local scout troop for the Boy Scouts of America. 


Paul is married and has four children. In his spare time, Paul enjoys camping, the outdoors, reading and cooking.

Joshua Nichols is an accomplished tax manager known for his expertise in tax planning and compliance at the federal and state level. Josh has active enrolled agent status with the IRS, and has successfully served clients across various industries, including real estate, oil & gas, wholesale, retail, and service-based businesses.

 

Originally from Toledo, Washington, he developed a strong work ethic from his experiences growing up on a horse and cattle ranch. Alongside his professional pursuits, Joshua is a devoted father of three and actively contributes to his church community. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for serving others, Joshua brings a unique blend of expertise, integrity, and determination to every endeavor.

Melissa Tranter

Firm Administrator

Melissa oversees a wide range of the firm’s management and structure, including human resources, administration, and facilities. She successfully builds and promotes the firm by providing insightful and innovative strategic leadership to organize and control the day-to-day operations of the firm, execute decisions, and serves as a liaison between management and staff. She oversees a team of administrative associates in all of the PRP offices and provides support for the firm’s clients while maintaining positive employee and client relationships. Additionally, Melissa brings over 25+ years of experience in the industry specializing in payroll, sales tax, CAT tax, 1099 and personal income tax preparation.



In her spare time, Melissa enjoys cooking, painting, eating out with good friends and volunteering. Melissa’s strong faith and large family has been her motivation to continued success.


In our Mentor office, Joe Kovalcheck, CPA will be our Senior Seasonal Tax Preparer. He has 45 years of tax preparation experience. Previously with Lipson Group as a Tax Partner, and then COO and Account Manager of M & N Advisory Services.



Joe is married with 5 children and 2 grandchildren. When he isn’t working, Joe enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends and being involved in charitable activities.

Marty is an Enrolled Agent and specializes in tax prep seasonally out of the Mentor office. He has been a professional tax preparer years before his time with PRP. He’s a retired manufacturing engineer, so understands that industry thoroughly.


He and his wife Kim have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren and he thoroughly enjoys golf when it isn’t tax season


Jackie is a Bookkeeper at the Mentor location. She brings 30+ years of experience in bookkeeping and management. Her specialty areas are Small Business, Restaurant Management and Retail Management. She started her journey with accounting in high school and ultimately received an Associate degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Management.


Jackie has two daughters and has been coaching the Willoughby South HS Bowling team for 12 years.

Dee Hannum

Bookkeeper

Dee is a Bookkeeper at the Mentor Location. She has over 25 years of experience in bookkeeping and corporate accounting with an associate's degree in accounting. 

Her experience encompasses a diverse range of business types including public accounting, finance, family wealth, legal, medical, government, manufacturing and she once owned and ran a successful bookkeeping business. Dee grew up in Northeast Ohio before moving to the Washington DC metro area where she started her bookkeeping/accounting career. She recently moved back to Northeast Ohio to be closer to her family.

 

Dee enjoys spending time with her two dogs, photography, watching hockey (especially the Washington Capitals), volunteering, traveling, hiking, reading and gardening.


Kristin is the Administrative Assistant at the Mentor location and assists with the day-to-day needs. She brings 20+ years of customer service and office administration. Prior to joining PRP, she worked in the healthcare insurance industry, and family law.


When she’s not busy with PRP, Kristin spends time with her husband and three boys. Having recently moved from Illinois, they are enjoying their new adventures in Ohio.

Debbie

Bookkeeper

Debbie works in the Mentor location in a wide variety of functions. Primarily a bookkeeper for 40+ years, she also has many years of experience with both business and personal taxes, along with HR, office management and payroll. Having worked in both the private and public sectors, Debbie is very detailed and goal oriented and loves helping her clients implement good bookkeeping practices.


Debbie and her husband have 4 daughters between them and one grandson. However, the baby of the family is their Cocker Spaniel, Killian! In her off hours, she is a singer, an artist, and amateur home remodeler.

You will find Christine in the Chardon office, providing the clients with friendly communication and direction for everything they need. Christine is all about workability and implementing systems that work best for the firm and client overall. She is the Canopy expert and is helping everyone find ease of use in the office and with the client portals. Christine has her MBA and BAs in Psychology and Fine Art.


When Christine isn’t at PRP, she has her own holistic energy and massage practice, and is known to provide chair massage to PRP staff during tax season. She and Paul have 4 grown children, three currently in college. In her spare time, she loves travel, spending time with friends, scrapbooking, wood turning, and crochet.
